St George Senior Games The USA Or UK For Medical College?

The USA or UK for Medical College? - st george senior games

One of my older friends, going to the UK this autumn to study medicine (St. George's School, University of London). He stayed there for 6 years by students. And to be complete when I finished school, all the courses you need for a career in medicine. I understand that if I am in the United States, residence, the 4 years of students. And 4-year-Med School to become a doctor. In the U.S. system in the United Kingdom in comparison, is 2 years older, a kind of return on my part because I want to finish my studies as soon as possible, but at the same time I want a career in the U.S. and I am sure she will attend a British university touched me the opportunity to work in America.

There are a number of disadvantages of each approach. Buoyed by the same decision process itself lived, I'll tell you what my thought process when I finished school. It is true that if you go to the UK to save a little time, but also realize that you make a decision, essentially a long life at the age of 16/17 or less. I know you want to go to medical school, but the ability to check your soul. In graduate school I went to change something like 60% of students who were pre-med, its interests at the graduation. So, in my opinion for two years in school with a value of U.S. to be absolutely sure he knew that medicine was what I wanted to do.

It is certainly difficult to get into a house, if you are an IMG (International Medical Graduates). Sometimes, no doubt! (You can click on the websites of several hospitals and check some of the residents who are in different programs - some of them undoubtedly foreign medical schools)but it is not easy, especially for the competitiveness of specialties.

Additionally, you have to take the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) are, and you can safely (to go and do a lot of students), it is not included in the program, as it must in eleven United States "to prepare, without "assistance" (within the meaning of the timing of the review, preparation time, etc.) that will help the students here.

However, I believe that the risks and potential disadvantages outweigh the benefits of spending more than two years. In the long run to make what difference two years?

Two of my classmates went to medical school in Brazil and Venezuela. They went through six of the same program a year and appeared in the United States to make their homes. She worked hard and had no problem after receiving post-graduate positions at UCLA and Penn. They work in a prestigious hospital, and now they are not disadvantaged.

Hey man I think you're in the wrong place. on the following websites:

www.studentdoctor.net
www.valuemd.com

Both sites have forums where students discuss pre-med/med others. I was in the same situation as you, and believe me, these sites continue to help because some people are not in the same situation as you and me. I chose the school in the United Kingdom United States med
